Dr. Michael Bekker

Michael Bekker is a true psychopath, with no regard for human life except as subjects for his research. He is also severely addicted to pills: speed, angels, crosses, and even cocaine. His drug use increases throughout the book as his stress level increases. Though he commits terrible deeds, his intelligence cannot be denied. His escape from the courthouse is coldly planned and calculated, and it works. His disguise as a woman while he is at large is also very smart: he can get close to people with no alarms going off, especially other women.
