Chapter 17 Summary

Claudia talks with her father's secretary. She asks if her father ever told him where the prison is. He says no. the secretary tells her that when the imposter is killed, Claudia will be killed too. He says the queen isn't breaking any laws because Claudia is an escaped prisoner. The secretary says the queen denies knowing which boy is her true stepson.

Jared is in the library at the academy. He's trying to break into the system and figures out that Sapphique is the password. A messenger delivers a letter from Claudia telling him about the fire. When Jared runs a special light over the letter, Claudia tells him they are going to kill her along with the imposter.
