Chapter 25

Evelyn Freemark is standing on the porch, watching Old Bob leave to go find Nest, when she knows the demon is coming to her. The feeders are outside her house. She looks around the yard, reminiscing on her life with her husband. She goes into the house and gets the shotgun, loading it. She thinks of Nest. The demon comes, and tells her she looks old. He says she knew he would come back to finish her someday. She threatens him with the gun; although she cannot kill him, she can ruin his disguise. He realizes that Evelyn has lost her magic. She tries to shoot at him, but he is too quick for her. The feeders come for her and devour her before she can do anything...
