Summary

Chapter 13

Griffin is awakened in the night by Justin, who drives Griff in his father’s truck to the marina. At first Griff is worried that Justin is going to torch the Buford family boat docked at the marina, but then he begins to tell the story about the day he was kidnapped. Justin explains that he misjudged a skateboard jump and broke his ankle. Buford, in a white van, came to him after he lay in pain for a while and helped him to the van, saying that he was taking him to the infirmary. Griff learns that Buford re-injured Justin’s ankle so he couldn’t get away. He was forced to write down everything about his family, and Buford told him that if he escaped, he’d kill them all. Justin wrote all false information about his family...
