Summary

In “Amazing Bones,” Janice expresses her regret that Tova is leaving town. To Ethan’s shock, Tova gives him the replacement t-shirt. “You’re quite a woman, Tova. Did you know that” (286). Tova officially closes the sale of her home, and finalizes her moving preparations with sadness. She imagines several happy generations of a new family inhabiting her childhood home.

In “A Big, Bold Lie,” Cameron feels inadequate when Ethan doesn’t consider him for a job managing the Shop-Way. Cameron misses his date with Avery to meet with Simon Brinks last minute. He leaves a message with Avery’s son, and heads “toward the freeway” (296).
