Summary

In Chapter 17, Digger talks to Brady and again urges him to dispose of the drill. Digger tells Brady that if he disposes of the drill, then everyone can just forget what happened. However, Brady knows that no one will ever forget what happened to Ben. Brady then sees Carl and casually converses with him. Carl idly comments on Digger’s family. Digger’s father is known to have a drinking problem and to sometimes physically abuse his wife and children. Brady then talks to J.T., who also asks Brady to dispose of the drill. In Chapter 18, Brady’s mother asks Brady why he does not spend time with J.T. and Digger anymore. Brady avoids the question.
