Summary

Maggie and her dad settled “into a cohabitating rhythm” (305). When she was not in Kingston, she drove to Toronto to “teach and hold office hours, see Helen, and sleep on Lauren’s couch” (305). She tried to spend less time on social media, too.

One night, while stretching, she “became overwhelmed with memories” from the past few months (308). She felt guilty and ashamed. Then, while thinking about Simon, Simon called. He apologized for what had happened and wanted to see her again. She explained that she was trying to learn how to be alone. They ended the conversation amicably.
