Friendship

The main theme of this novel is friendship. The novel is about three friends who decide to take a cross country trip when an opportunity presents itself, allowing these three friends two weeks alone together before one of them leaves for Princeton. At the beginning, it seems like a great idea, a way for these three to bond before they separate for a time. However, the trip takes on a darker side as the trip begins.

Kyle has known Nelson most of his childhood and he is used to Nelson's oddities. However, Jason is not used to them and they set him off on the first day of the trip. Over time, Jason becomes more tolerant of Nelson and soon the two become friends.
