Piranesi aka Matthew Rose Sorensen

The main character is a man who resides in a mysterious endless labyrinth. He is unsure of his name, but the other person in the labyrinth refers to him as Piranesi, so he simply accepts that label. He has deep love for the labyrinth, and he subsists on fish and vegetation that grow in it. Piranesi is in his thirties, but he has no memory of anything that has occurred more than five years ago. He never forgets anything about the labyrinth, but he often forgets other things. Piranesi takes copious notes on the events of his day, and he devotedly tries to help the other person uncover the secret knowledge that is supposedly hidden in the labyrinth and will grant immense power. Piranesi has no interest in power, but he does have an interest in curiosity and exploration.
