Chapter 8: Grinning Slim Summary and Analysis

Runt and Blood wake up and she runs to get them breakfast from the Haven. Glass Top calls and tells Blood to be ready right away since he is going to Sweet Jones' penthouse and will introduce Sweet to Blood properly. Glass Top introduces Blood as his nephew. Sweet agrees to teach Blood some things, but he hates Blood's constant grinning. When a whore named Red Cora almost gets the best of Blood, Sweet Jones saves him, but physically abuses him in the bathroom. With Glass Top's help, he gets up and agrees to meet Glass Top down by the car. While sitting in the car, waiting for Glass Top, police officers start harrassing him, nearly arresting him when Glass Top shows up at the last moment and gets them out of trouble by mentioning Sweet Jones'...
