Runt and Blood wake up and Blood immediately tells her about his rules for whoring in the neighborhood while simultaneously motivating her to work. That evening, he parks in front of the Roost and feels confident he has a whore working for him. He mentions for the first time that he can become successful in a white man's world so long as he has the money to get there. He walks into the Roost and sees Sweet Jones.
