Summary

In Chapter 17, Kirsch prefaced his presentation with part of a speech by Langdon. On the screen, Langdon watched himself in a prerecorded lecture talking about how early man had used gods to explain the phenomena of nature. As men began to understand these scientific causes of these phenomena, their dependence on gods shrank. After the introduction by Langdon, Kirsch indicated that he planned to answer two questions that had always fascinated him. These questions dealt with the origins of human life and the future of humans. He predicted that the age of religion would be ending, particularly with the findings that he was about to present.

Chapter 18 is a ConspiracyNet entry which reported seven million people were watching online as Kirsch introduced his scientific discovery which he believed would end the age of religion.
