Summary

Michael is feeling frustrated and alienated following Melissa’s date night, and he believes that Melissa no longer finds him attractive. Michael attends a social event hosted by the company that employs him, and he looks forward to seeing Rachel there. Michael spends most of the event with Rachel and a few other coworkers. They all drink large amounts of alcohol. Later, they go as a group to a dance club. Michael is 37 years old, and Rachel is 25. Michael and Rachel go to Rachel’s apartment and have sex. Michael then goes home. It is quite late, but Melissa is still awake. Michael lies that the work event went late and he had difficulty acquiring transportation home.
