Summary

Melissa is cleaning the house one day, and she becomes annoyed at Ria for bringing trash like sticks and pieces of paper into the house. Melissa stops herself from losing her temper, but she thinks with some exasperation about the conflicting ideas about how to best raise children. Later in the day, Damian and Stephanie arrive for a visit. They bring their three young children: Jerry, Summer, and Avril. Melissa has recently given birth to Blake, her and Michael’s second child. Melissa used to work at a fashion magazine, but now she does freelance writing from home so that she can take care of the children. Melissa finds the arrangement somewhat stifling and frustrating.
