Chapters 6-10 Summary

Chapter 6 finds Myron at Englewood High School, where Brenda's team, the New Jersey Dolphins practices. Brenda sees Myron and comes over to him and he tells her that her father had cleaned out his bank account before he disappeared. Brenda tells Myron that her mother had done the same thing twenty years ago. The pair discuss Horace's job, and Myron asks if there is anyone to whom Brenda's father would turn. She tells him that if Horace would talk to anyone, it would be Horace's sister, Mabel Edwards. Brenda makes a phone call from the hallway and sets up an appointment for Myron with her aunt.

In Chapter 7, Myron drives to West Orange to meet with Mabel Edwards. A call is patched through from Norm Zuckerman, who is not happy that Myron left Brenda alone at practice. Myron does not see...
