Bella Swan

Bella is a 17-year-old girl who moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington to live with her dad. Although she hates Forks because of the weather and because of its small town dreariness, she decides (in the first book, Twilight) to move there because her mother needs alone time with her new husband. Bella lacks confidence in herself, unable to understand why anyone would want her around. This causes her to take on the role as cook and housekeeper for her father, who really just wants her to be a regular kid. Bella also shies away from attention, preferring to stay under the radar in school, with her boyfriend, Edward, and with her own father.
