Summary

Chapter 26 opens with Ebony and Bianca trying to decide between Star Trek and Ghostbusters and Julius is growing impatient. Ebony wants to see Star Trek and is unwilling to compromise and eventually gets her way. Ebony is excited when she sees Nichelle Nichols” (157) name on the screen and thinks Admiral Morrow looks like Julius. After the movie, Julius talks to Ebony about how to handle “crazy” (162) people on the streets. Ebony is upset that people talk about crazy people because people think Ebony is crazy. Even so, Ebony admits to herself that she is “starting to like it here” (163).

In Chapter 27, Ebony tells Julius she does not feel well. Julius explains that Ebony is homesick and suggests Ebony go outside and play. Downstairs, Uncle Rich has let in Bianca, who calls Ebony “Ice Cream Sandwich” (167). Ebony tries to ignore Bianca and starts trying...
