More Than You’ll Ever Know tells the story of Cassie, a true crime writer/blogger who wants to write a book about Lore, a woman who was married to two men at the same time. When Cassie reads an article about Lore, she believes there is more to Lore’s story. After repeated attempts to get Lore to let Cassie tell Lore’s story, Lore decides to confide in Cassie for Cassie’s book.

Lore reveals the details of her affair with Andres. The affair begins while Lore is traveling for work. Lore is not unhappy in her life with her husband Fabian and their twin boys, Gabriel and Mateo. Yet, she is drawn to Andres. The relationship between Lore and Andres continues to grow, while Andres remains unaware that Lore is already married. Andres asks Lore to marry him. Lore finds herself agreeing to the marriage after the couple survives a devastating earthquake in Mexico City.

While Cassie writes her book, Cassie begins to realize that her relationship with her fiancé Duke is not as solid as Cassie once thought. Cassie and Duke have different opinions when it comes to true crime and Duke does not offer the support Cassie wants in pursuit of writing her book about Lore. After Cassie’s younger brother Andrew contacts Cassie about their father’s drinking problem, Cassie is forced to confront her relationship with her father. The more Duke learns about Cassie’s past, the more Duke struggles with his relationship with Cassie.

As Cassie continues to work on her book and the interview with Lore, Cassie begins to see herself in Lore. Cassie can empathize with Lore’s desire to explore a relationship with Andres. Since Cassie has kept the darker parts of her past from Duke, Cassie can relate to Lore leading a double life.

Once Duke discovers the truth about the domestic violence Cassie witnessed as a child, he is empathetic to Cassie. At the same time, Duke feels hurt that Cassie did not feel like she could confide in him. The strain on their relationship becomes too much for the couple. Cassie and Duke part ways.

Cassie continues to work on her book. She signs with an agent and moves ahead with investigating whether or not Lore was involved in Andres’ death. When Lore suspects that Cassie does not fully believe what the police say happened, Lore gives a false confession to Cassie in order to protect one of her sons. However, as Cassie soon learns, Lore does not know which one of her sons she is protecting. Lore does not suspect that Mateo killed Andres after learning about the affair and secret marriage. Mateo confesses to Cassie, but Cassie is left to decide how she wants to handle the book going forward. When Cassie finally publishes her book, Cassie ensures that Lore’s story is about a woman coming to terms with love, strength, and survival.
