John Anderton

John Anderton is the founder and Commissioner of Precrime. For the thirty years in which he has run the program, crime has been reduced by 99.8%, leading to a fundamental reorganization of society of the course of a single generation. Anderton is smart, practical, realistic, as well as increasingly old and tired as he moves toward the end of middle age. His primary career achievement was to discover a way for the predictions delivered by the precogs to be used for crime prevention. Whereas a different person might have used the precogs in order to become rich or for some other nefarious person, it is Anderton’s innate sense of justice that led him to find a use for the precogs that benefits society.
