Section 11: Chapters 16 & 17 Summary

In Chapter 16, after boosting Eric over the wall and following, Turquoise pushes him aside when she sees a cougar, ordering him over the fence as she battles the feline which tries to delay her until its master arrives. Feeling a familiar aura, Turquoise notices Daryl, and though she has no weapon, she prefers fighting to submission. A brief fight ends when Turquoise shoves Daryl to the ground and snaps his neck, paralyzing him temporarily, and though retreat irritates her, she cannot kill him without a weapon. Joining Eric on the other side of the fence, Turquoise leads him into the forest behind Midnight, refusing to stop until they escape Jaguar's land.
