Section 8: Chapter 12 Summary

Returning to her room, Turquoise learns that Ravyn has acquired knives from Gabriel who is willing to help their cause. Because of this, Ravyn suggests they race to kill Jeshickah with the winner receiving the bonus money; however, Turquoise ups the stakes by suggesting the loser forfeits the title of leader of Crimson. Before Ravyn answers, Lord Daryl enters the kitchen and dismisses Ravyn. He orders Turquoise to come to him, hitting her when she refuses and demanding that she leave Midnight with him. Luckily, Jaguar arrives and refuses to let Turquoise go, denying Daryl's offer to buy her and mocking Daryl when he announces he has blood claim which allows him to do whatever he wants with Catherine since she drew his blood. After Daryl finally leaves, Jaguar offers to help Turquoise, but she cannot accept help from any vampire...
