Chapter 4 Summary

As Mildmay had predicted, the dogs start raiding the lower class areas of the city. The Mirador and the mayor don't know what the dogs are up to. The upper class is so blind to what happens in the lower-class areas. Mildmay realizes that Vey Coruscant must still be alive, because her neighborhoods are not raided by the dogs. Estella shows up at Mildmay's house looking for Ginevra. Faith, the healer, was taken into custody by the dogs. Estella warns Mildmay that if he can't keep Ginevra happy, Ginevra will walk out on him. Ginevra refuses to believe that bad things are happening in the city. It creates tension between her and Mildmay. Mildmay refuses to lie to her and make her feel like everything is fine.
