Summary

16: At film school, Lance and his classmates were frustrated when a new editing professor gave out poor marks without feedback to illuminate her grading choices or criteria. Lance was elected by his classmates to speak to the teacher about their concerns, but she immediately became very angry. She accused Lance of violating the school's policies and he had to attend a hearing with university officials. At the hearing, she accused Lance of demanding a better grade. However, her case was quickly dismissed when Lance pointed out that she had given him an A, a fact that she had clearly forgotten. For the first time, Lance felt the rewards of being a bit of a "troublemaker" (252).
