Chapter 13-14 Summary

Thomas and Queen Aglaranna are lying in bed when Thomas is awakened by something that he feels. He feels the things that occuring with Pug, King Rodric and Duke Borric. Since he was free from Ashen-Shugar, Queen Aglaranna notices he is a new type of being that is neither the boy from Crydee or the Velheru. His Velheru powers had become more acute since he had regained his humanity. She still is sure that there is no reason to hope for anything.

Lyam sends word to his brother and sister of their father's passing and King Rodric, but keeps quiet about Martin at the urging of Brucal. Lyam tells them to go to the Grey Towers.
