Chapter 12 Summary

Pug manages to make it to the Duke Borric's side before he passes away. He tells Pug that he had visions of Pug and has set aside a sum of money. He wants Pug to start a school for wizards in Midkemia. Pug's old master Kulgan is there as well. Katala waits outside with William while Pug says his goodbyes. He is happy to have seen Pug's wife and child. The Duke also tells Pug that he had adopted Pug into their family after Pug was taken since he had no family of his own. He knows that Pug will not shame the family name. As he laid dying he tells his son Lyam and Brucal that he acknowledges his eldest son Martin Longbow. Lyam thought that he was the oldest heir.
