Laura and Carl learn about the Ice Hotel from their cab driver on the way there. Barbara welcomes them and tells them about how the ice hotel takes shape in the winter. This challenge has them all hooked up to EEG machines where their ability to stay awake, despite the quiet and warm bed that is to be provided. In the morning, the team that stays awake for the longest will get a two hour head start on the others. Carl and Laura climb into bed as do Cassie and Juliet. Cassie jokes about her mother being in bed with another man and Laura returns the jibe regarding Cassie in bed with a strange woman, seeing something revealing in the look on her daughter's face...
