Sookie Stackhouse

Sookie Stackhouse is a cocktail waitress who was born and raised in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Sookie was raised by her grandmother after the tragic death of her parents. Sookie has a brother with whom she has never been close. Sookie's grandmother has passed away, leaving her the family home. Sookie works at a bar in Bon Temps called Merlotte's. Merlotte's owner is a small, compact man with whom Sookie has a conflicting relationship. Sookie likes Sam, but is aware of his sexual attraction to her, but Sookie has a boyfriend. Sookie was raised in a family that believed in organized religion; therefore, some of Sookie's moral beliefs are grounded in the ideas preached by these organizations causing her to be a good friend and a trusted lover.
