Summary

In Chapter 29, Mai liked riding the mopeds, but she enjoys the bicycle-pulled cart more. She knows it is partly because she is with Ba. Ba and Ong visited Saigon when Mua was a baby. Ong had to make two trips on the moped to transport the entire family from one place to another. While Ong was gone to pick up the remaining children, Ba worried about what she would do if he did not return. “But he did” (227).
