Twilight

Twilight, a time of night that is still slightly illuminated by the sun, is a symbol for secrecy in the novel. During twilight, vampires can roam freely without fear of being discovered. Bella resents this daily routine, just as she hates being a vampire.

Beau's car

Beau’s car, a welcoming gift from Charlie, represents Beau’s potential to be genuinely happy in Forks. In reference to the car, Beau says, “And I loved it.
