Ginnie's and Keith's House

Ginnie's and Keith's family home is the primary setting for the short story "The Mom of Bold Action." This is where Ginnie spends the majority of her time, in that she is a stay-at-home mom. At the story's start, she is pictured pacing around her kitchen, trying to think of something to write for her next story. Her work is interrupted when her son Derek comes home with a bloody face.

In the wake of Derek's incident, Ginnie starts to see her house differently. She feels as if all the work she and Keith have done to create a home for their family has been for nothing now that Derek has been hurt by a stranger. Her relationship with the space shifts once more at the story's end, when Ginnie realizes that there is a limit to the good she can do and the life...
