Chapters 3 and 4 Summary

In Chapter 3, Rose loses the spirit connection with Lissa, but not totally. Rose can still feel that Lissa is alive and well, but Rose cannot see what is happening with Lissa. The spirit bond only works one way, so Rose can see into Lissa's life, but Lissa cannot see into Rose's life. The following morning, the spirit bond is back and Rose can once again see into the mind of Lissa. Rose observes as Lissa gets ready for the funeral and heads for the procession. The funeral traditional procession begins. As the procession reaches the cathedral, two of the statues in the garden explode.
