Mia Jacob aka Mia Davis aka Maria Allen

Mia Jacob, also known as Mia Davis and Maria Allen, is the central character in the novel. She is the daughter of Ivy Jacob and Noah Brinley. The two were not married when Mia was conceived. When Ivy told Noah she was pregnant, he refused to marry her or take any role in handling the situation. Ivy’s parents planned to send her away and put the baby up for adoption, but Ivy ran away to the Community and had her baby because she wanted to keep it.
