Summary

In Chapter 14, Aven demanded that Connor tell her why he will not eat dinner with her family. He told her that “I spit food at people” (105). Aven’s mom said jokingly that “we’ll all wear rain gear at dinner tonight” and Connor explained that his dad would “yell at me for spitting and that would make [my tics] worse” (105). Aven’s parents told the story of how they adopted her and she protested her dad putting Spaghetti down.

In Chapter 15, Aven introduced Connor to Zion and the three made a plan to meet up at Stagecoach Pass and work on solving the murder mystery. Someone walked by the children and called them freaks.
