Chapter 1-6, Conner to Vanessa Summary

The novel "Impulse" by Ellen Hopkins focuses around three suicidal teens who are attempting to reorient their lives at a psychiatric hospital.

In Chapter 1, Conner arrives at Aspen Springs psychiatric hospital, where he will be staying in the Redwood Room. Conner has been committed to the hospital for attempting to kill himself by shooting himself in the chest. Conner's mother found him before he died, and saved his life. The one overwhelming feeling Conner has is that of pain.
