Summary

Kailash goes to a party at Ehsaan’s house with other graduate students. Kailash sees Cai Yan there, but Kailash becomes distracted by Ehsaan’s personal anecdotes. Ehsaan talks about his trips to visit various monuments related to socialism and labor rights. After visiting the Haymarket monument in Chicago and criticizing the American government, he was detained by the FBI. Ehsaan managed to talk his way out of further retribution from the FBI by stating that while he was not an American citizen, he was a taxpayer. Ehsaan then tells the story of crossing from India to Pakistan as a young man. He carried a rifle and was part of a refugee group.
