Summary

The book starts with an email Lucy Sante sent to close friends between February 20th and March 1st 2021, informing them that she had decided to transition her gender and live as a woman, and will be going as 'Lucy' instead of the deadname 'Luc' from now on. The email details a lifetime of unknown and unnamed desires to exist as a woman, but at 67 years old, for much of Lucy's life, being trans was not a possibility, or even something she knew about. Using the FaceTune app, Lucy alters several selfies to appear more feminine, and seeing herself as a woman for the first time acts as a catalyst, projecting Lucy into coming out.
