Chapters 5-6 Summary

In chapter 5, Roy finishes his homework quickly and sneaks out of the house to go find the running boy. Roy returns to the golf course where he goes into the trees searching for signs of the running boy. Roy finally finds a camp fire and three bags. One bag contains trash, one clothing, and the third Roy pours out because he cannot see its contents. At his feet, Roy has poured out nine cottonmouth moccasin snakes. These are highly poisonous, so Roy stands very still to keep from being bitten. A voice behind Roy tells him to jump back on the count of three, but Roy is so scared that the voice has to yank him back. Roy then finds himself tied to a tree with a bag over his head. The voice asks why Roy has come here and then the voice leads Roy...
