Chapters 10-11 Summary

Ranger insists that Stephanie take the car for a few days and think about whether or not she is willing to accept it. Stephanie calls her best friend Mary Lou and tells her, wondering aloud what Ranger wants in return. The general conclusion seems to be sexual favors. Out of guilt, Stephanie calls Morelli and offers to have dinner with him, but Morelli says he has to work. Stephanie is uneasy all night deciding to go out for some junk food. Instead, Stephanie takes the Porsche to Morelli's, arriving just in time to see him getting out of Terry Gilman's car. Stephanie is so upset that she buys a bag full of candy and eats it all.
