Summary

In Chapter 24, Dirk resented the von Koenigs for releasing him from their staff. He encountered a farmer who invited Dirk to join him as he traveled toward Meersburg in his wagon. Dirk met Gerwig Pfeiffer, who invited Dirk into his home. The following morning, in Chapter 25, Dirk met Herr Pfeiffer’s two sons, Franz and Moritz, who were eight and five years old, respectively.
