Vincent Wilde

Vincent Wilde is the wife of Cillian, mother to Olive and Colm, and the main protagonist. She moves into an apartment in Paris at the beginning of the novel after the release of Cillian’s novel, Half-Blown Rose. As a woman in her forties, Vincent constantly worries that the age gap between herself and Loup is too large. She also thinks that she has spent too long ignoring her emotions and tries to do whatever she wants without guilt in Paris. This leads her to start an affair without Loup before breaking things off with Cillian. Over time, Vincent becomes increasingly more jealous of Loup’s former relationships as Vincent struggles with her identity.
