Summary

In Chapter 11: "Grilled Turkey," Aunt Terry unexpectedly arrives at the house on Thanksgiving morning. The oven runs out of propane midway through cooking the turkey, but Ian cooks it the rest of the way through using an old grill, and happily notices his mother and aunt playing fetch with Gather. Mrs. Ellsley’s daughter and son-in-law stop by and tell Ian they would like to pay him once a month to help take care of Mrs. Ellsley. Later, Terry suggests she and Ian’s mother get high, but Ian’s mother refuses.

Chapter 12 is entitled "Cash Flow." Ian’s mother explains she got a job helping out at Angel’s Café, as Angel, the owner, is recovering from surgery. The two argue about how she is going to get there...
