Winterfell

Winterfell is in the north and is where Lord Eddard Stark reigns as Lord of the North. Winterfell is also where Eddard and his family live.

King's Landing

King's Landing is in the south. It is the place where the King of the realm resides. King's Landing is also where Lord Eddard Stark rules as King's Hand and where he is beheaded.

Ice

Ice is Eddard's personal sword which he uses in the novel as a tool of execution. It is also used to behead Lord Eddard himself.

The Wall

The great Wall, which is in the north, protects the realm from the evil forces of winter. The Wall is manned by the men of the Night Watch.

Westeros

Westeros is the continent where the majority of the novel takes place. In the beginning of its existence, Westeros is inhabited by the fairy-like children of the forest...
