Summary

Chapter 57 is set in June 1996. This chapter changes to Genevieve Magnan's perspective. Swan left a message on her phone, saying he had talked to Violet. That prompts Genevieve to think about the past. Genevieve worked at Leonine's school. Violette usually picked Leonine up after school, but Genevieve tried to catch Philippe's attention during his occasional visits. Toward the end of the year, Philippe invited Genevieve to meet him. She dropped her sons with a friend and met Philippe in a secluded spot. He turned her around, bent her over, and had rough sex. These meetings became weekly events.
