Summary

Ethan went to one of Saul's doctor's visits. Rachel thought it was odd but Saul told her it had gone well. He then announced his decision to stop seeing his doctors altogether. Rachel knew it was Saul's right, but was worried. Saul was excited to do nothing but "stay home" (196).

Rachel would not call Saul's new apartment a home, but she did like the kitchen. She remembered the things her parents would say about starving children when they were growing up. Now Saul hardly ate.

Nadia cleaned Saul's apartment on weekends. One day, Saul told her a joke about a Buddhist and a vacuum. They laughed. Rachel did not understand.
