Some characters in Frankissstein: A Love Story place great faith in artificial intelligence to solve human problems, but by the end of the novel Winterson has thoroughly undermined this hope. To Ron Lord, the sexbot king, artificial intelligence can solve the so-called gender wars if enough sexbots can be created to attend to male desires.
