chapters 8 - 16 Summary

The mystery about Marissa's black eye is solved - a fellow biker had elbowed her before they were going to hurtle, race down on their bikes from Tower Hill. Marissa mentions that she had an older brother, named Gus, that goes to the Hurtle every Friday night. Blake wants to take pictures of Marissa's black eye and she agrees if she can take pictures of Blake's garden behind his house. This is upsetting to Shannon because she has only been to Blake's house one time, but she has soccer practice so she cannot join them.
