Summary

Not-So-Secret-Letter – When she arrives at school the next day, Ally is surprised to find a letter on her desk. She looks at it, recognizes only the word “love” and the name “Max.” Later, after a morning of receiving suggestions from her classmates about things that should be brought up at student council, Ally rebuffs an insult from Shay. At lunch, Shay asks her why she didn’t have lunch with Max like he asked in his letter. As Max approaches, Shay becomes embarrassed, and as Ally makes a joke about the letter, she realizes that Max knew nothing about it. As Shay and Max leave, both embarrassed, Ally comments in narration that it was the first time she had ever been glad that she cannot read.
