Summary

In Chapter 20: "Understorey," Yamaye calls Charmaine and tells her she has a plan. Yamaye has a doctor come to look at Irving, who says that Irving has early signs of dementia. She empties her bank account, then goes to the Crypt to see Lego. He shows her how the Crypt has been transformed into a restaurant. Yamaye tells him she is moving to Jamaica, and she also tells him about Crab Man being a police informant. She gives Lego some of her money and the number for the Safe House. She then arranges for a neighbor woman to start looking in on Irving, paying her monthly to do so. Yamaye calls Herbert to learn about the investigation.
