Summary

Part II: The Solution: The Four Rules for Fair Play

Chapter 6 is titled “Rule #4: Establish your Values and Standards” and opens with the line, “Level the playing field” (145). In the first section of this chapter, Eve discusses the idea that the mom does not have to do everything in the home. Eve relates the story of Sara who decided she would no longer attend the many birthday parties of her son's friends. She expected her husband Clark to object, but he agreed, especially since their son himself did not usually enjoy them. They agreed they would only attend parties for close friends and family members.
