The Milk

The milk symbolizes the fact that humans cannot see the magical world without help. Humans who drink the milk have the ability to see the magical world and the magical creatures of the Preserve. Some of the magical creatures drink the milk as a matter of course, and the humans drink the milk in order to see the magical creatures.

The Corn

The corn is just feed for a chicken, but Grandma uses it to symbolize her humanness. She places the corn kernels into a message so that Seth and Kendra take steps to return her to human form.

The Baby at the Attic Window

The baby at the attic window is not real. It symbolizes the ability of the magical creatures to trick the humans so the creatures are able to gain admittance into the house.
